BTI Helsinki working on Film Festival titles

BTI Helsinki is an experienced provider of subtitles for theatrical releases and has several Finnish film distributors as clients.

BTI Helsinki is translating several films in time for the Helsinki International Film Festival, an annual festival that takes place in mid-September. After their premiere at the festival, the films will go on to receive a wider theatrical release.

We have worked on eight films for the festival. Our biggest client for the festival is Cinema Mondo, an independent film import and distribution company. As we have two official languages in Finland, the films need bilingual subtitles: Finnish on the upper line and Swedish on the bottom line.

The films are very interesting and challenging jobs for our translators. The source language is different for each film: Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish, French, Japanese, Swedish and English. There is also a variety of genres, including a Mexican horror film, Somos Lo Que Hay (We Are What We Are), a Chinese film noir, San Qiang Pai An Jing Qi (A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop) and a Swedish drama, Det Enda Rationella (A Rational Solution), starring some of Sweden's top actors.
