BTI Budapest produces rare Hungarian AD track

BTI Budapest has produced the audio description track for only the second programme ever to be described in Hungarian.

Funded by the Hungarian "Foundation of Informatics for the Visually Impaired", BTI’s Budapest studio produced an audio description soundtrack for an Etalon Film DVD release of State buoni... se potete, directed, by Luigi Magni.

The descriptive text was written in close cooperation with freelancer Lívia Kovács, who regularly contributes to our SDH (Subtitiling for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) projects.

Lívia, who herself is blind, was paramount in determining the quantity and nature of supplementary information to be included within the description.

The DVD is due to be published before Christmas, and we hope for a warm reception from the visually-impaired community. We also believe that this pioneering production may help the community to lobby for further funds so that audio description can become more widespread in Hungary.
