Swedish Idol finalist starring in Eskimo dubbed cartoon
A few months ago, Daniel Norberg realised that he had to do something with his creative and artistic talent. He was working a dead end job, stuck in his hometown but decided to take action.
As well as auditioning for Swedish Idol, Daniel sent a voice sample to Eskimo Avenue. The sample caught the attention of Eskimo’s creative director Mathias Henning, and Daniel was invited to audition for a key character in an upcoming cartoon. He immediately proved himself to be a fantastic dubbing talent and was eventually given the lead role in the series.
Meanwhile, the Idol jury was also impressed with Daniel's talent and he went on to reach the Idol finals, earning a place on the Idol tour. Although this tour was to coincide with the dubbing schedule, careful planning allowed production to continue, with Daniel recording his lines in both the Stockholm and Gotherburg studios, depending on which Eskimo Avenue studio Daniel was closest to each time.
"I love dubbing and I really look forward to every session", Daniel explained, and he has even set himself a goal for his dubbing career; "I hope that I will get the opportunity to dub a Disney cartoon".
Henning said, "We are happy to have Daniel in our talent pool; he is very easy to work with; he is quick and he has a great understanding of the requirement of dubbing. I'm sure we'll see him perform on the big stages in the near future".
