New trio in London

New trioOver the past few months, BTI has undergone an organisational restructuring in order to get more client-focussed. Certain operations have therefore been moved from local sites in Scandinavia to the London hub, home of our international clients.

In September last year, we recruited Ms Christine Andreasen as our key Danish Language Co-ordinator, followed in February this year by Ms Lise Narum and Ms Emma Odenmo, our new Norwegian and Swedish Language Co-ordinators. Each of them liaises closely with the respective translators and assists client managers, ensuring that jobs are planned and distributed efficiently.

Emma has previously worked as a freelance translator for BTI and is now seeing the business from a new perspective; "After my experience translating for Broadcast Text, I find it intriguing to gain an insight into all the work that goes in to subtitling, and I am very happy to take part in this work." Christine agrees; "Seeing subtitles on television, it all looks so easy and straightforward. I never imagined the processes behind it all."

Lise has a background translating German into Norwegian, but had never before worked in the subtitling industry. She says, "I find it really exciting to work with big clients such as the BBC, Discovery and TVNorge, to mention just a few. There's a fascinating span of programmes being subtitled."
